Brass is best cleaned with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Wipe it dry afterwards so that no moisture remains on the surface.
As a general rule, avoid soap, harsh cleaning agents, chemicals, abrasive sponges and polishing compounds, as these may affect the brass surface treatment, cause discolouration or damage the finish. For everyday cleaning, gently removing dust, fingerprints and dirt with a damp cloth is usually sufficient.
Brass can naturally change in appearance over time and develop a patina, which is part of the material’s character. To keep the surface looking its best, clean it gently and avoid prolonged contact with water, moisture and cleaning products.
