Brass knobs for your home
Brass tones can bring warmth and character to furniture. A knob is a small detail, but its shape and surface can change the appearance of a cabinet or drawer. Explore our handles and knobs for designs that work with your interior.
Understanding brass materials and finishes
Check the individual product to see whether it is made from solid brass or has a brass-coloured finish. Brushed and polished describe the surface appearance, while lacquered and unlacquered describe a separate aspect of its treatment. These distinctions affect both care and how the surface changes over time.
Brushed brass
Brushed brass has a visible surface texture and a more subdued reflection than a highly polished finish. It can suit a kitchen or furniture where you want a softer metallic detail. A brushed surface is not automatically scratch-proof, fingerprint-resistant or maintenance-free.
Coordinate the look with brass handles where appropriate. Follow the care instructions for the exact model; brushing alone does not determine whether polish or a cleaning product is suitable.
Polished brass
Polished brass has a shiny, reflective appearance that catches the light. Check whether the polished surface is lacquered or otherwise treated before cleaning it. Only use metal polish if the manufacturer specifically recommends it for that finish; polishing can damage a protective coating or alter a treated surface.
Lacquered and unlacquered brass knobs
Unlacquered brass may develop a natural patina through contact with air, moisture and everyday handling. The pace and appearance vary with use and conditions; it does not change identically on every product.
A lacquered surface provides a barrier intended to slow changes in the underlying brass. It does not make the knob immune to wear or damage. Treat the coating according to the manufacturer's guidance, and do not assume that a lacquered knob is suitable for every damp location.

Brass knobs for furniture and kitchens
New knobs can refresh cupboard doors, chests of drawers and bedside furniture without replacing the fronts. Warm brass tones can complement both simple modern kitchens and more traditional interiors.
Choose a shape that works with the furniture and feels comfortable to grip. Round designs offer a different impression from angular or more decorative forms. Check the diameter, projection and space for your fingers rather than selecting from appearance alone.
Before ordering, check the mounting method, front thickness and required screw length. Confirm which fittings are included. A single-hole knob does not necessarily cover the two holes left by an existing handle, so measure the front before changing fitting type.
Match finishes where you want continuity, or use brass as a contrast to other materials. The individual product's specifications and care instructions will help you choose a knob that suits both the look and everyday use of your furniture.
