VK-1 from NORDICMODERN is a handwoven, reversible rug designed by Vibeke Klint around 1980. Its minimalist pattern begins with a square in one corner. The design draws inspiration from Arne Jacobsen's functionalist architecture, as seen in Denmark's central bank building in Copenhagen.
The weft is made from 100% New Zealand wool, while the warp is linen. Braided edges complete the rug. The overall composition is 80% wool and 20% linen. VK-1 comes in four colour combinations and three sizes.

Design
NORDICMODERN was founded through a collaboration between Peter Kampmann and Nana Fenge. In 2017, they began reviving Vibeke Klint's handwoven rugs. The designs are selected in close collaboration with the Klint family, with respect for the original patterns and colour combinations.
