Furniture knobs for your home
Handles and knobs can add character to a new cabinet or refresh an existing design. Consider how the fitting looks as well as how comfortably you can grip it in daily use.
Different types of furniture knobs
Different shapes, materials and finishes let you adapt cabinets and drawers to your own interior style.
Porcelain knobs have a classic, decorative character. They can complement country-style and vintage furniture or provide contrast against simpler modern fronts.
Brass furniture knobs bring a warm tone. Explore brass knobs with different surface treatments: polished finishes reflect more light, while brushed or matt finishes give a more subdued impression. Check the product's material and whether its surface is lacquered or unlacquered, as this affects care and patination.
Brass can work on kitchen cabinets, chests of drawers, sideboards and wardrobes. Compare proportions and mounting details to find a suitable model rather than choosing by colour alone.
Wooden furniture knobs add a natural detail and can suit both traditional and modern furniture. The wood type and treatment affect the appearance and maintenance.
Whether you prefer black knobs, brass or another look, distinguish colour from material. Choose a fitting that complements the furniture's finish and offers enough space for your fingers.
Using furniture knobs as wall hooks
Some knobs can be used as hooks with a compatible wall-mounting kit. This is not suitable for every furniture knob: check the thread, approved application and mounting instructions for the exact model and kit.
For knobs from Copenhagen Home Design, consult the individual product page to confirm whether a wall-mounting kit is included or must be purchased separately. Do not assume all models include the same fixings.
Use wall fixings suited to the substrate and follow any stated load limit. A knob mounted on furniture does not automatically become a suitable wall hook, and bathroom use must be confirmed for the particular model and finish.
Refresh furniture with new knobs
Replacing knobs can give a cabinet, chest of drawers or wardrobe a different character without replacing the furniture. A simple chrome or brushed-metal look can feel contemporary, porcelain can add a vintage detail, and brass brings warmth.
A different shape may make a fitting more comfortable to grip. It will not, however, remedy stiff hinges, damaged drawer runners or a misaligned front; check those separately if the furniture is difficult to open or close.
Before ordering, compare the knob's dimensions, projection and screw specification with the furniture and front thickness. Check whether the new base covers existing marks or holes, and follow the product's fitting instructions.
